Here are some necessary points to keep Melodica functioning properly for long time. The Hohner Melodica has air chamber and reeds made of metal. If the dust enters in that device then it can jam reed which can result in improper behavior of reed and could be the worst. Therefore you should keep it away from dust. The boxes are available there to keep Melodica safe from dust. If anyhow dust enters into that instrument then open the device and clean it by cloth and brush. The temperature also has its effect on reed. The improper temperature can reduce smooth working of reeds. Both high and low temperature can reduce working of reeds.

This device needs care just like other unusual musical instruments. While not playing Melodica keep it in its box. It is fun to learn Melodica and proper care will enhance your interest in learning.
